is is a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu.  We start at 8 AM and much of the day to day life of Kathmandu takes place in the bazaar-a fascinating mixture of people selling fruit, vegetables and spices; potters spinning their wheels to produce small household bowls and containers for temple offerings; devotees visiting their favourite gods at temples and small shrines dotted along the sides of alleyways; rickshaw wallahs honking their horns and the ever present sacred cow wandering amongst it all. In the afternoon we plan to visit the Temple of Pashupatinath on the banks of the Bagmati River, the holiest Hindu shrine in Nepal. We will also visit and also Bodnath, the largest stupa in the country and a destination for Buddhist pilgrims from all over Nepal.

Overnight at the hotel. Breakfast included.

In the morning we visit the almost perfectly preserved city of Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaun or City of the Devotees. Bhaktapur feels more like a huge medieval village with its potters wheels and its many intricate stone and wooden carvings. We then continue to our lodge in Dhulikhel on the Kathmandu Valley rim.

Dhulikhel (altitude 1,440 m), a small town with  a long history  lies 32 km to the east of Kathmandu, it is about one and a half hour drive from Kathmandu. More than 500 years ago, Dhulikhel flourished as a trading center handling commerce between Kathmandu and Lhasa . The artistic skill and urban ethos of its Newar inhabitants have created a place of charm and beauty. Streets lined with bare-brick houses, carved wooden windows, sloping tile roofs, pagoda temples and sacred statues everywhere. Today, it delights visitors with its enchanting cultural heritage and stunning Himalayan views.

Overnight at Dwarika’s Resort Dhulikhel, dinner included.

In Dhulikhel, you will be stying at Dwarika’s Resort Dhulikhel for a holistic lifestyle retreat, drawing on ancient Himalayan knowledge and philosophy of care for nature and for one’s self. Today you will take a flight to Bhairawa. A drive of about 20 KM from the Bhairawa airport will take you to Lumbini. Lumbini is famous because it is the birth place of Prince Siddhartha who later renounced his material life and became Buddha. Lumbini is situated 25 KM east of Kapilavastu, the place where Prince Siddhartha grew up and lived up to the age of 29. Lumbini has numerous Buddhist temples. There is the Mayadevi temple among others. Nearby, there is the Puskarini pond and the remains of the Kapilvastu palace. The other places to visit here are the Lumbini Dharmodaya Samiti Dharmashala, a Theravada Buddhist Vihara, established in 1956 and the Dharmaswami Maharaja Buddha Vihara, a Tibetan Gompa. Overnight in Standard Hotel, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included.

After breakfast, we take you for the full day tour in Lumbini. Lumbini is one of the world's major religious, architectural, and historical sites. Today we visit as many places and sites in Lumbini as possible. The place is really a big area with monuments, temples, and ancients sites making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We spend time wandering around the gardens, some of the important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include: Ashoka's Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) on the spot of Buddha's birth which also has the oldest inscription in Nepal. There are many Buddhist Temples founded by the devotees from different countries: they include Tibetan, Chinese, Japanese and Burmese, Korean, etc. and overnight at standard hotel.

Today we drive from Lumbini to Chitwan National Park. It takes about 4 hours to reach there.

Once a private hunting ground, Chitwan is now a National Park, with thick tree cover and tall elephant grass sheltering a wealth of animals, most famously the one-horned Rhino. Our lodge is located just across the Rapti River, outside the park, near the village of Baghmara. Throughout your stay you will be kept busy during the day (except for a couple of hours around lunch time) with many activities available, including jeep safaris searching out the one-horned rhino, bird watching, jungle walks and drives and dugout canoe trips along the Rapti River. Canoeing will be dependent on the water level, floating silently down the river in a traditional dugout canoe gives us the opportunity to spot many varieties of water birds. On a nature walk in the company of trained native naturalists you can walk along trails in the less densely forested parts of the park. An early morning bird watching walk near the river will reveal many of the 450 bird species that can be found in the park, especially kingfisher. A trained naturalist will help you get the best enjoyment and interest from these excursions.
